Sportswear meets dancehall at Topshop Unique SS15 collection
Topshop Unique deliver retro chic vibes with the launch of next year’s spring/summer collection at London Fashion Week.
Topshop is one of the top major British style setters that has gained strong recognition worldwide thanks to its eclectic designs. The retail chain has not only won fans all over the world, but it is also admired by high-end designers and A-listers. This strong bond that Topshop has created with its audience has helped the retailer reach success and become the only high-street brand to show its designs at London’s prestigious fashion week. This year the brand fused sporty and elegant features as an array of fashion pieces that would make anyone want to get fit and party took to the stage.
Cara Delevingne-the new face of Topshop- unsurprisingly opened the SS15 show with a sporty colour block tennis dress. Bold colours such as white, maroon and blue dominated the catwalk at the start of the show as models wore gingham prints, stripes, flouncy frills, pleated skirts, colour block dresses, tambourine bags and strappy wedge heels. Towards the ending softer colours started emerging and beautiful sheer dresses with Swarovski detailing were worn by the models. Cara closed the show in style with a backless ethereal gold shimmery dress that won over the audience who jumped onto Twitter to proclaim their appreciation.
This year Topshop decided to follow innovativeness and keep engaged with its customers by instantly debuting looks off the catwalk collection straight onto Facebook. The multinational retailer also chose five Instagrammers to document the show and decided to put six Topshop Unique inspired pieces available to buy online. Topshop mogul Sir Phillip Green has stated he is proud to have pioneered this original idea and to have enabled fans to gain unprecedented online access to the collection. Once again, Topshop represented iconic British style whilst achieving immediate reaction to the collection through the use of social media, an interaction that continues to revolutionise and enhance our modern-day fashion culture.
