Glamburger – World’s Most Expensive Burger

By  |

‘Money is no object’. How often do those four words whisper in your ear as you browse through the latest magazines, stroll around your favourite shops or gaze into the window of the local travel agents at their dreamy weekend getaways? I’m guessing very rarely, if ever.

The majority of us work to live and save up along the way to enjoy the finer things in life but I’m sure the expression ‘how the other half live’ still rings true to many.

The ‘Glamburger’ has been invented by head chef at Honky Tonk (London), Chris Large, who worked in conjunction with Groupon to create the worlds most expensive burger in celebration of the five-millionth food and drink voucher being sold in the UK.

Kobe Wagya beef burger burns a £1,100 shape in your pocket and stretches the waistline with it’s deliciously terrifying 2,618 calories. The burger is made up of some of the most lavish ingredients you can buy such as Kobe Wagyu beef, New Zealand venison and white truffle. To complete the dish, the brioche bun is coated in an edible gold leaf that sparkles grandeur.

So ladies and gentlemen, could the ‘Glamburger’ be the new McDonalds 99p cheeseburger or simply one of the most ridiculous ways to fritter away money… you decide.

Groupon are working with one of their merchants, Honky Tonk restaurant to create The WorldÕs Most Expensive Burger, the Glamburger. The burger costs £1,100 and has been certified by RecordSetter. Chef Chis Large has designed the burger and will only make one for one lucky Groupon winner to eat for free. Ingredients include beluga caviar, lobster poached in Iranian saffron, Kobe Wagyu beef and an edible gold leaf bun.
